Debbie was born in the West Country and after fulfilling her dream of living by the sea has returned to her native roots in beautiful Somerset, Working en plein air she paints quickly to capture the light and a sense of place, whilst working from still life in her studio she paints directly from her subject, depicting the evolving seasons in oil paint through her portrayal of still life subjects, from  autumnal fruits, winter berries, the emergence of the new life of spring and, especially, summer roses.

Rhythm and harmony of colour, light, movement, and creating a painterly visual language with a keen eye on composition are constant threads running through her work.

Debbie has exhibited widely including RAMM, Exeter and the Mall Galleries, London, Vandlys Galleri, Exeter Quay and her works are in private collections across many continents.  She is an Academician and former Trustee with the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts.
